MENtOR - Methods and Experiments for NOvel Rotorcraft

Methods and Experiments for NOvel Rotorcraft - Dynamic Testing - this part of the project aims to develop an understanding and estimates of the structural responses of the ATI-funded tiltrotor experimental rig in a wind tunnel setting. This project task will characterise the rotor rig experimentally and it will produce a validated structural dynamics model that will inform other work packages.


SLOWD - Sloshing Wing Dynamics

SLOWD project investigates the use of sloshing in aircraft wing fuel tanks to reduce the loading effects of gusts and turbulence. This Airbus led H2020 project is aimed at developing fluid-structure interaction technologies to enhance the design of fuel tanks and their use such that loads reduction is achieved leading to improved fuel efficiency and reduced environmental impact.


PhD theme in vibration control

I'm looking for a suitable candidate to develop:

Novel liquid-based vibration control devices

This project aims to develop a new liquid-based devices suitable for passive and semi-active control of vibrations using reconfigurable fluid networks and advanced flow control principles. This research can benefit mainly aerospace applications.

Active blade tendon for dynamics control

Cutting edge research in active helicopter rotors in partnership with Swansea, DLR, TU Munich, TU Delft, CIRA. Funded through Horizon 2020 - Research and Innovation Framework Programme.
